Computer Assisted Language Learning Reflection Paper

Why did I choose this course? Because I want to improve my English, and my classmate invite me to take this class. At first, I thought it was an easy course, but things go contrary to one's wishes. The instructor is very earnest to teach us English. We have homework every week. Although I sometimes forgot to do homework, I learned how to improve my English in the internet.

I was asked to write in English blog. I wrote a blog about 7 years ago, but the blog was closed. It is very interesting to write a blog because I can share interesting things in my life. My English is poor. Fortunately, the instructor taught us many useful tools in the internet. For example, I was used “Common Collocations” to find the most suitable word, and I saved a lot of time to look up dictionary, and the instructor also taught me a Speaking & listening tool ― MyET. This is a very interesting software. I use it to do a listening and speaking test. At first it was easy, but after Question 15. it became difficult, I did not know what the speaker says. I tried again and again including changing the pitch and slowing down the talk speed, finally I succeeded. It is an impressive experience. I never gave up, I could finish the test and upload the grade, but I set a target, if I did not reach the target, I would try again.

The instructor asked me to share my life story to classmate. Everyone’s life is unique. Share with students between I learned even though I suffered, failure is the mother of success. I should stand up from the failure. Life is constantly fighting and never given up.

The instructor asked us to divide into groups. My group was responsible for “Talks on Ted”. The instructor asked us use English to report. Then we allocated works. I was good at making Power Point. Other crew gave their data to me. Finally we reported it successfully. Fortunately my crew is very hard-working and they speak clearly. It was a good experience. Teamwork is the most important element in the workplace.

On this course apart from discipline, I learned how to face with pressure and solve problems. I am very grateful to the instructor and my crews.
